The Garden Rental Company
Privacy Notice - Garden Home Enquiries
Last updated: 27 October 2026
1. Who is responsible for your information?
The Garden Rental Company is the public-facing name used for this garden-home enquiry service. The organisation responsible for deciding how your enquiry information is used is THE GARDEN RENTAL COMPANY LIMITED ("we", "us" or "our").
Business/contact address: 14 Manor Close, Highfield Manor, Rathfarnham, Dublin, Ireland.
Privacy and enquiry contact: privacy@thegardenrentalcompany.ie.
This notice explains how we handle information received through our Facebook or Instagram enquiry forms, related messages and follow-up, and this information website. It does not replace Meta's own Privacy Policy for its services.
2. What the enquiry is for
We are conducting an initial market-interest exercise for homeowners exploring modular garden homes and potential rental arrangements in the Dublin area. We use enquiries to understand interest, review the information supplied about a property and discuss possible next steps.
An enquiry is not a purchase, a booking, a tenancy application or confirmation that a property is suitable. It does not guarantee planning permission, installation, finance, tenants or rental income.
3. Information we collect and where it comes from
Depending on the enquiry channel and the information you choose to provide, we collect:
- Your name and email address, and an optional telephone number.
- The property's general area, estimated available garden size and information about separate garden access.
- An optional property Eircode, if you provide it during your enquiry or follow-up. We use it to identify the property location more precisely for an initial location review, not as proof of ownership or technical suitability.
- The content of your enquiry, relevant correspondence, your contact preferences and our notes about follow-up.
- Administrative information such as when the enquiry was submitted, its originating form or campaign, and its progress.
We receive information directly from you, including information submitted through Meta's forms. Meta may prefill some contact fields from your profile; please check them before submitting. A hosting provider may also process technical access records, such as IP address, browser information and time of access, to deliver and secure this website.
We do not ask for identity documents, bank details, financial information, health information or other sensitive personal information in this initial enquiry. Please do not include such information, or personal details about tenants, neighbours or other people.
You are not legally obliged to make an enquiry. Fields marked as required are needed to submit that form and allow us to understand and respond to it. Phone and Eircode, where requested, are optional. You may contact us by email instead. Choosing not to provide optional information does not prevent an initial enquiry, although more information may be needed before any property-specific assessment.
4. How and why we use information
Responding and reviewing the enquiry. We use the information to respond, review the property information, establish whether a further conversation is relevant and manage reasonable follow-up about your request. Our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who approach us about this proposed service and assessing initial service suitability (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Understanding the pilot. We assess the number, relevance and progress of enquiries to understand market interest and improve the service. Our basis is our legitimate interest in evaluating this limited pilot (Article 6(1)(f)). We use anonymous or aggregated results for reporting wherever possible and do not need names or exact property locations in general market reports.
Specific steps requested by you. Where you ask us to take necessary steps towards a specific contract with you, we use the information required for those steps under Article 6(1)(b). This does not turn the initial enquiry into a contract.
Security, records and rights requests. We use necessary records to secure our systems and handle complaints or legal claims, based on legitimate interests. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, including applicable data-protection obligations, we rely on Article 6(1)(c).
We consider the necessity of these uses and your rights and reasonable expectations. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests using the contact above.
5. Contact preferences and marketing
We use your email, or your optional phone number where appropriate, to respond to and follow up your specific enquiry. Tell us your preferred channel or ask us to stop follow-up at any time.
Submitting the enquiry does not sign you up to newsletters, unrelated promotional messages or marketing by another business. We do not sell enquiry data. We do not use this pilot's lead list for customer-list advertising audiences. Any later optional marketing would be explained separately and would use the consent or other permission required by law; it would not be a condition of receiving a response to this enquiry.
6. Who can receive the information?
Access is limited to authorised people who need it to manage the enquiry, and service providers supporting the campaign, hosting, email, secure storage and administration under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection arrangements.
The providers and any separate business assisting with this pilot are: Authorised personnel of The Garden Rental Company Limited; Meta Platforms Ireland Limited for Facebook and Instagram Instant Forms; and our website hosting, email and technical service providers. We may also disclose personal data to professional advisers or public authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data.
We do not automatically distribute your enquiry to modular-home suppliers or unrelated businesses. If you ask us to arrange an introduction or assessment, we will first explain the proposed recipient and purpose, then share only the information needed for that step on an appropriate lawful basis. Relevant suppliers or professional advisers will explain their own responsibilities and privacy arrangements where they act as separate controllers.
Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, regulators or other authorities where necessary and lawful, for example to meet a legal obligation or address a legal claim.
Meta processes information when you use Facebook or Instagram under its own terms and Privacy Policy. This notice describes our use of the enquiry information we receive; it is not a statement that we control all of Meta's processing. For information about Meta's own processing and rights tools, see https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
7. Where information is processed
Our campaign and service providers may process information in the European Economic Area and, where their operations require it, in other countries.
The international processing relevant to this service, including destinations and the applicable transfer arrangements, is: Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area, transfers are protected by an applicable European Commission adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Where an international transfer requires safeguards, we use a valid legal transfer arrangement, such as an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards, with supplementary measures where necessary. You can request information about the safeguards, and a copy where applicable, using our privacy contact. We do not promise that all processing takes place in Ireland or the EEA.
8. How long we keep information
For an enquiry that does not progress, we delete or irreversibly anonymise identifiable enquiry information within 90 days of the last meaningful contact about it, or within 90 days of submission where there is no further meaningful contact. Sending an unanswered reminder does not restart this period.
If you ask to proceed, we retain relevant information while those discussions remain active. Before information moves into an ongoing service or contract, we provide any additional privacy information and retention terms that apply.
We keep only the information necessary for a legal obligation, an active complaint or a legal claim for as long as that particular requirement justifies it. General pilot reports may be kept without identifying individuals. Security and access logs follow the hosting provider's necessary security retention arrangements, disclosed in the provider information above.
Deletion applies to working copies and exports under our control. Backup copies are isolated from routine use and expire through the documented backup cycle. Meta's own processing and retention are governed separately by its policies.
9. Security and decisions
We use appropriate access controls, confidentiality arrangements and security measures for the information we hold. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
The initial review concerns the property information and service requirements. We do not use solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on you. An initial screen or expression of interest is not a technical survey, planning decision or guarantee of eligibility.
10. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you may ask to access or correct your personal data, erase it, restrict processing, or receive a portable copy where the right to portability applies. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out lawfully. Contact privacy@thegardenrentalcompany.ie to exercise your rights. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal time limits, normally one month.
You may complain directly to the Irish Data Protection Commission at https://www.dataprotection.ie/, or to another competent supervisory authority. You do not have to contact us before doing so.
11. Website technologies and changes
This website is a static information page. It does not use advertising pixels, analytics, profiling technologies or non-essential cookies. The hosting server may process basic technical logs for security, availability and troubleshooting purposes.
We will update this notice when the service or our use of information changes. The date above identifies the current version. We will provide further information before using your information for a materially different purpose and obtain consent where required.

What we are exploring
The Garden Rental Company helps homeowners explore modular garden-home options and potential rental arrangements in the Dublin area. This initial enquiry exercise is intended to understand interest and discuss possible next steps. The scope, provider and terms of any subsequent service will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.
An enquiry is not a commitment
Submitting a form or requesting information does not create a purchase, lease, tenancy, management agreement, finance application or obligation to proceed. No payment is requested through this initial enquiry form. Any subsequent charge or contractual commitment requires separate information and agreement.
Costs and the homeowner's role
The proposal is for homeowners to fund the purchase and installation of a modular home. It is not an offer of a free unit or free installation. Unit, installation, connection and professional-service costs, and the parties responsible for them, would be explained separately before any commitment.
Property suitability and approvals
Garden size and separate access help an initial discussion; neither establishes that a property qualifies. Technical and site assessments must be undertaken by the appropriate supplier or qualified professional. Planning, building, fire-safety, access, utility and lawful rental-use requirements must be considered for the particular property. An enquiry response is not a professional certification or permission to build or let.
Rental arrangements and outcomes
Any rental arrangement, management service, fees, responsibilities and contractual parties must be agreed separately. This initial enquiry is not a guarantee of tenants, occupancy, income, investment return, tax treatment or finance. Illustrative concepts and examples are not evidence of an installation completed by us unless expressly identified as such.
Suppliers and professional advice
Third-party suppliers and advisers are responsible for the assessments and services they agree to provide. Any introduction, fee or commission relevant to a proposed arrangement will be explained before you commit. General information is not a substitute for advice about your particular legal, tax, financial or technical circumstances.
Privacy and fair access
The Privacy Notice explains the handling of enquiries. We consider enquiries using relevant property and service criteria, not protected personal characteristics. Nothing in these enquiry terms removes any statutory rights you may have.
Questions or complaints
Contact privacy@thegardenrentalcompany.ie with a question or complaint about the enquiry service. The right to raise a data-protection complaint with the relevant supervisory authority is explained in our Privacy Notice.
